Office-Based Surgery (OBS) - Accreditation

Office-Based Surgery continues to grow throughout the healthcare markets. We have watched it expand from the cosmetic/plastic surgery market into other areas such as podiatry, pain management, general surgery, GI and even orthopedic offices. As many states now take this surge into consideration, stricter legislature and regulatory requirements are being enacted to ensure the safety of patients who undergo office-based surgical procedures.

This is evident by the fact that The Joint Commission, AAAHC, AAAASF, and other accrediting agencies have developed office-based surgery accreditation for the physician’s office. This accreditation is customized to accommodate the needs of an OBS surgical practice accreditation versus that of a full ambulatory surgery center accreditation.

AXIOM has customized a program that is similar to the ambulatory accreditation process, yet works with the limited resources that a physician’s practice might have. It is our goal to work with the existing practice’s format to meet the needs of the standards, versus re-inventing the organizational flow. For many physician practices, we find that current staff members have never been through the accreditation process. AXIOM’S experienced consultants can guide your staff through each step of the accreditation process.

Our Office-Based Surgery Consulting Services consist of:
